Piping Competitions   Competition playing is a very important element of piping.  A successful competitive piper is easily distinguished from other pipers who have not been tutored to be successful in competition.  When playing in competition, pipers are judged upon the musicality of the melody, the technical competence of their finger technique and the quality and steadiness of the tone of the Bagpipe. In order to be successful in competition, a great deal of practice is required to develop the finger technique required, the finger dexterity and the tone of the instrument.  Bagpipers of Distinction only provide players who have shown that dedication to become successful solo or pipe band competitors in order that we can offer the highest standard of bagpiper.
